A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Lester Cornelious "Doc" Aucoin, 97, of New Iberia will be celebrated on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Mark Derise will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Aucoin passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 1:45 A.M. in a local care facility. Mr. Aucoin lived a long and full life. He enjoyed dancing at the Council on Aging and at Cajun French Music Association functions. Mr. Aucoin was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Cornelious (Cannon) Aucoin and wife, Juliene of New Iberia; a daughter, Elizabeth Castille and husband, Harris of New Iberia; step-daughters, Roxy Landry of Franklin and Louanna Arton of Jeanerette; sister, Lodo Broussard of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Neil and Amanda Aucoin of New Iberia, Heath Michael Boudreaux of Coteau, Mark Castille of Point Aux Chene, Karl Castille, Sr. of New Iberia, and Wanda Laper of St. Martin Parish; great-grandchildren, Karl Castille, Jr. and Kelsey Castille of New Iberia, Ashley Castille of Bentonville, AR, Amber Castille of Houston, TX, Kayla Castille of Houma, Britany Castille of Point Aux Chene, Brooke Laper of St. Martin Parish, and Ashley and Alex Boudreaux of Coteau; and a great-great-grandchild, Alexia Breaux of St. Martin Parish. Preceding Mr. Aucoin in death are his first wife, Rita Buteaux Aucoin; second wife, Elise Pitre Aucoin; parents, Rodolph Mitchel and Emma Price Aucoin; dear friend, Connie Bonin; brother, Burley Aucoin; sister, Dorothy Aucoin; and granddaughter, Shawn Annette Aucoin. Serving as pallbearers are Karl Castille, Sr., Karl Castille, Jr., Mark Castille, Neil Aucoin, Heath Michael Boudreaux, and Amanda Aucoin. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kenneth Ritter, Jr. for all the years of good care given to Mr. Aucoin. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
