Erath- A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Earl J. Chiasson, Sr. at 11:00 on Monday, October 16, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath with Fr. Douglas Courville officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath beginning on Sunday, October 15, 2006 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 16, 2006 from 9:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Mr. Chiasson passed away Friday, October 13, 2006, at the age of 80. He was the owner and founder of Earl's Furniture Store. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nellie LeBlanc Chiasson; one son, Earl Chiasson, Jr. and his wife Renee (Thibodeaux) Chiasson; six daughters, Diana Chiasson Monteleone, Claudette Chiasson Bremer, Janet and husband Larry Dubois, Annette and husband Glenn Oliva, Ellen and husband Patrick Sterling, Beth and husband Brent Trahan; 20 Grandchildren, Adrien, John and wife Pamela (Gaspard), Joel, Nicholas, Alex, and Gia Monteleone, Jeff, Andrew, Benjamin, and Shay Dubois, Meghan and husband Jerry Vincent, Joshua, Tyler and Matthew Oliva, Victoria, Natalie, and Grace Sterling, E.J. and Evan Chiasson, and "soon to arrive" Baby Trahan; one great granddaughter, Cailyn Vincent. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Evia (Babineaux) Chiasson; and one sister, Lillian and her husband, K.A. "Red" Bolner. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephew Mark Bolner. Readers and gift bearers will be his granddaughters. David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling arrangements.
