Lafayette " Funeral services for Francis Pete Gary, 90, will be held Thursday, Ocotber 19, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard. Father Peter will be officiating with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mr. Gary was born in Duson, Louisiana on June 5, 1916 and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 6:35 AM, at Southwest Medical Center. Mr. Gary was retired from Trappey's Canning Company after 30 years. Mr.Gary was a hard working man,who worked in sugar cane, cotton, pepper, and sweet potato fields. He was a very loving person, who never met a stranger. He was caring to everyone he ever knew. He is survived by his two daughters; Mabel Touchique, of Broussard, Lawrence Johns and her husband Robert of Dayton, Texas; one son, Nicholas Francis Gary, of Broussard, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Etta Thibodeaux Gary; his parents, Nicholas Gary Sr.; his daughter Mildred Gary; two brothers, Freddie Gary, and Nicholas Gary, Jr.; four sisters, Edna Bourque, Edith Gauthier, Enita Roseberry, Anita Champagne, and Amy Ewing. Pallbearers will be Robert Johns, Sr., Robert Johns, Jr., James Johns, Steven Johns, and Nicholas Gary. The family request that visitation be observed Wednesday, October 18, 2006 from 4 PM till 9 PM and reopen Thursday morning from 8 AM till time of service.
