LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, AND GREAT-GRANDMOTHER
New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Wilton J. Broussard, the former Rita Mae Tot LaBiche, 81, of New Iberia will be celebrated on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Keith DeRouen will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 8:25 P.M. in her residence.
Mrs. Broussard was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family. Mrs. Broussard also enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth C. Broussard and wife, Madeline Simon Broussard of Lafayette; daughters, Gail B. Touchet and husband, Dalton, Brenda B. Segura and husband, Lynn, Jacqueline B. LeBlanc and husband, Carl, and Jeanne Elizabeth Broussard, all of New Iberia; brother, Whitney Jean LaBiche, Sr. of New Iberia; sister, Theresa L. Collins of New Iberia; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Prededing Mrs. Broussard in death are her husband, Wilton J. Broussard; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Numa (Edma Hebert) LaBiche, Sr.; brothers, Numa LaBiche, Jr., Morris Livest LaBiche, Milton Antoine LaBiche, Emmett Francis LaBiche, Sr., Dozelia Joseph LaBiche, Albert Jules LaBiche, Sr., and Franklin Joseph LaBiche, Sr.; and sisters, Effie LaBiche, Jeanne L. Reagon, and Olite Mae L. DeRouen.
Serving as pallbearers are Brian, Chad, and Ken Broussard, Brent Touchet, Coby Sherman, Michael Segura, Sean Steinman, and Josh Landry. Named as honorary pallbearers are Kirsten LeBlanc, Monica Steinman, and Kim Touchet.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Acadiana, Inc., 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
