New Iberia"Funeral services for Mr. Herman Wayne Pops Marks, 76, will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Ed Downs will officiate. Interment will be made in Hopewell Cemetery, Dry Creek, LA on Saturday at 2:30 P.M. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M., and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in David Funeral Home. Mr. Marks passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 7:50 A.M. in his New Iberia residence. A native of Houston, TX, Mr. Marks attended the University of Houston, where he studied mechanical engineering. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Marks lived for many years in Tyler, TX, where he was a member of Dixie Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of Tyler Dental Laboratory and Tyler Denture Center. Mr. Marks moved to New Iberia in 1997. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was an avid genealogist, as well as an accomplished guitarist and singer. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, of whom he was very proud. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Marie Frusha Marks of New Iberia; daughters, Kathy Romero and husband, Lynn of New Iberia, and Lori Brundrett of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer Manuel and husband, Christopher of Lafayette, and Ryan Lynn Romero of Coteau; sister, Billie Jean Catoe of Grants, NM; niece, Colleen Rogers of Maryland; and nephew, Paul Wayne Diedrich and wife, Sarah of Leander, TX. Preceding Mr. Marks in death are his parents, Howard Wesley Marks and Ethel Nettles Marks; and a brother, James Howard Marks. Serving as pallbearers are friends and family of Mr. Marks. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
