Abbeville " A Memorial Services for Mr. Alvin Aucoin, 83 will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 3:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel in Abbeville. Interment will follow at a later date. A native of Port Arthur, Texas and resident of Abbeville Mr. Aucoin passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 9:15AM at Abbeville General Hospital. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. Mr. Aucoin served his country in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. He had been employeed by the Stale of Louisiana as Inspector of Contract Licenses for 28 years, and was a former Professional Baseball Player of 8 years with both the Milwaukee Braves and the Atlanta Crackers. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Millian Aucoin of Abbeville; one son, Kevin Aucoin and his wife Shana of Scott; three daughters, Yvonne A. Manceaux and her husband Michael of Lafayette, Gretchen A. Chauvin and her husband Mike of New Iberia and Diane Touchet and her husband Davie of Welch; twelve grandchildren, Regan Aucoin and Peyton Aucoin of Scott, and Justin Chauvin of Clear Lake, Texas and Jordan Chauvin of New Iberia, Laurie Bordelon, Larry Bordelon, Leigh Bordelon, Celina Bordelon, Elizabeth Bordelon, Aaron Bordelon, Racheal Bordelon, and Katherine Bordelon; and eighteen great grandchildren.
