Clifton Paul Maturin

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Clifton Paul Maturin, age 78, at 10:30AM Friday, December 18, 2009 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Blaine Clement officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum with military graveside services by V.F.W. Post 1982 Honor Guard. Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 3:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Friday from 8:00AM until services.

A native and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Maturin passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 5:55AM in a Breaux Bridge health care facility. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Knights of Columbus Council #3425. Mr. Maturin served as a New Iberia Police Officer for many years, retiring as a Major. He was also a member of the Retired Police Association.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Guillot Maturin of Parks; sons, Karl Maturin of New Iberia; and Ted Broussard and wife Gale of Erath; daughters, Theresa Maturin and Angelia Latiolais and husband Jamie, all of Parks; his grandchildren, Tonya Legnon, Sean Rose, Tasha Rose, Priscilla Rose, Jared Maturin, Britney Maturin, Karl Maturin II, Aisa Maturin, Eric Maturin, Angelia Espinoza, Jafet Espinoza, Kim Broussard, Kerri Broussard and Tony Broussard; his great-grandchildren, Shilia Sonnier, Emmie Idleman, Jailyn Idleman and Noah Guidry.

Mr. Maturin was preceded in death by his parents, Evia Maturin and Rosalie Aucoin, one brother and two sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sean Rose, Jafet Espinoza, Tonya Rose, Priscilla Rose, Angelia Espinoza and Karl Maturin.
