LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, SON, AND BROTHER Loreauville"A Mass of Christian Burial for Brett Gerard Romero, 39, of New Iberia will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend Mario Romero will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006 from 3:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Romero passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 12:00 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero was a U.S. Army veteran, having served at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, and at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He worked as a telecommunications technician, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Romero was a member of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Landry Romero of New Iberia; parents, Murphy I. and Gayle Cutrera Romero of New Iberia; daughters, Keirstynn Leigh Romero of Prince Frederick, MD, Kandiss Gayle Romero of New Iberia, Somjai Maokhamphion of Youngsville, and Amber Pena of Youngsville; son, Brett Murphy Romero of New Iberia; brother, Trenton Romero and wife, Michelle of Lydia; sister, Candice Romero Norris and husband, Lynn of Stillwater, OK; nephews, Devin Romero of New Iberia, and Brendon, Jadon, Kilynn, and Joshua Norris of Stillwater, OK; and nieces, Kaytlyn and Alissa Norris of Stillwater, OK. Preceding Mr. Romero in death are his maternal grandparents, Lucien and Lily Cutrera; and paternal grandparents, Edward and Addie Romero. Serving as pallbearers are Mr. Romeros friends and family members David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
