Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Walter Vernon the former Ina Mae Morgan, Age 86 at 2:00 PM Friday December 29, 2006 in the David Funeral Home Chapel of Jeanerette with Rev. Twandt Amos officiating. Interment will follow in Loisel Cemetery in Jeanerette. Visiting hours will be observed Thursday December 28, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will resume Friday December 29, 2006 from 8:00 AM until time of services. Mrs. Vernon passed away Wednesday December 27, 2006 at 4:40 PM in a Jeanerette Nursing Home. Mrs. Vernon was a native of Arkansas and a resident of Jeanerette. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Jeanerette and a member of the church choir. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and spending time with her family. Mrs. Vernon is survived by a son Mike Vernon and his wife Carrie of New Iberia, five daughters, Patsy V. Sandoz and Judy V. Leger both of New Iberia, Mary V. Courville and her husband Thomas of Lafayette, Margaret V. Brown and her husband Dicky and Debbie V. ODonnell and her husband Michael both of Jeanerette, and a brother Grover Cleveland Morgan of San Diego, CA. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Vernon was preceded in death by husband Walter Vernon, her parents Cleve Morgan and Myrtle Ross Morgan, a son Teddy Vernon, a brother Elwin Morgan and a grandson Dallas Joseph Leger, Jr. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Brown, Greg Sandoz, Coy Courville, David ODonnell, Josh Fontenot and Terry Vernon. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Luke Leger, Jory Vernon, Travis Vernon, Eric Courville, Jason Courville, Steve Sandoz, Keith Brown, Mike Brown and Todd Brown. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of funeral arrangements.
