Earth - A Mass of Christian Burial For Elva Rita Barras Latiolais, 67, will be held on Friday, January 12, 2007 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 2:00PM with Fr. Herb Bennerfeld officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Thursday, January 11, 2007 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 12, 2007 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. A native of Erath and a resident of Lafayette Mrs. Latiolais died on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 8:44PM at Lafayette General Medical Center. She was a happy free soul who was an inspiration to everyone. She helped a lot of people. She was the highest ranked trumpet player at Erath High School. Her favorite saying was Better Late Than Never . Her Family was her life. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Hector A. Robles for his care. She is survived by her mother, Nora Schexnayder Labit of Lafayette; a son, Spence and his wife Penny Falgout of Erath; three daughters, Carla and her husband Charles Theriot of Lafayette, Kate and her husband Vernon Picard of Lafayette, and Sally and her husband Ricky Romero of Youngsville; her fiance and beloved friend who took great care of her, Hugh Rundles of New Iberia; a brother, Kerner Barras; eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Ickson Barras; her first husband, Carroll Lee Falgout; and her second husband, Allen Latiolais Pallbearers will be Spence Falgout, Kerner Barras, Charles Theriot, Vernon Picard, Ricky Romero, Dillan Falgout. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Romero, Aaron Romero, Chase Romero, Brock Picard, Ronald Chance, Joshua Badon, Shane Reed, Troy Suire, Dwayne Delcambre. David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling the arrangements.
