Abbeville - - Funeral services will be held at David Funeral Home Chapel in Abbeville on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 2 pm for Daniel James T-Dan Hanks, 51. The Rev. Kenneth Mayne will conduct the funeral service with burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 9am till time of service that afternoon. There will be a rosary prayed at 1 pm prior to the service on Thursday. T-Dan was survived by his wife, Maxine Lege Hanks of Abbeville, LA; two sons, Jeremy Abshire of Denver, Colorado and Ardy Abshire of Nunez, LA; his grandchildren, Jude Abshire, Courtney Abshire, and Jared Abshire all of Baton Rouge, LA, and Alenia Abshire, Kierstan Abshire, Sadie Abshire, and Hana Abshire all of Nunez, LA; a brother, Michael Hanks of Erath, LA; two sisters, Gertrude Benienvenu and her husband Douglas of Abbeville, and Peggy Holmes of Maurice, La, a daughter in law, Nicole Abshire of Nunez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Eluis J. Hanks and his mother, Ezare Theresa Cahanin Hanks, and one son, Kelly Abshire.
