Jeanerette"A Mass of Christian Burial for Frank David Rogers, Sr., 64, of Jeanerette will be celebrated on Monday, February 5, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Reverends Peter Rogers, S.J. and Ed Degeyter will serve as concelebrants. Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2007 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 3:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Rogers passed away on Friday, February 02, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. in his Jeanerette residence. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Frank was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where he was a member of the choir and supporter of St. Joseph Catholic School. Frank retired from Shell Oil Company after 30 years of service, and served in the Louisiana National Guard. Through the years, his hobbies included knife making, woodworking, and making people laugh with his jokes. His real passion, however, was golf. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Landry Rogers of Jeanerette; son, Frank David Rogers, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Franklin; daughter, Jamie Mia Lancon and husband, Brad of Franklin; brothers, Michael Rogers of Jeanerette, Roland Boo Rogers of Lydia, and Father Peter Rogers, S.J. of New Orleans; sisters, Mary Thibeaux of Lafayette, Jane Boudreaux of Lafayette, Rita Rogers of Jeanerette, and Suzanne Luke and husband, David of Milton; grandchildren, Sarah Trosclair, Thomas, Eric, and Emily Rogers, Frances, Alex, Emma, and Luke Lancon, all of Franklin, and Slade Bobbitt of Charenton; and one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Trosclair of Franklin. Preceding Frank in death were his parents, Marguerite Minvielle Rogers and Kirby Rogers, Sr.; brothers, Kirby Rogers, Jr., John Rogers, and Robert Rogers; and sister, Ellen Rogers. Serving as pallbearers are David, Thomas, and Michael Rogers, Brad Lancon, Douglas Robicheaux, and Ricky Clement. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
