Erath - A Mass of Christian Burial for Leewood J. Trahan, 71, will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 3:00PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Doug Courville officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Wednesday May 2, 2007 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Mr. Trahan a native of Delcambre and a resident of Erath died on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 12:00PM at Erath. He was employed by Odeco a division of Murphy Oil Co. Mr. Trahan was a wonderful husband and father who enjoyed playing cards, horse racing, going to the casino, and working in his yard and gardens. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janice Vice Trahan of Erath; a daughter, Liz Mergist and her husband Jordan of The Woodlands, TX; a grandson, Steve Mergist of The Woodlands, TX; a granddaughter, Michelle Mergist of The Woodlands, TX; a great granddaughter, Mackenzie Mergist of The Woodland, TX; and a brother, Dillon Trahan of Erath.

He is Preceded in death by his parents, Fernest Trahan and Odite Lange Trahan; and a brother, Raymond Trahan.

Pallbearers will be Brent, Mark, Kevin, and Rogers Trahan, Chris Lange, and Steve Mergist.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Carmen LeBlanc and Michael Vice

David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling the arrangements.
