Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Walter E. Landry, Sr. the former Dorothy Rodriguez, Age 92, at 11:00AM Saturday, December 13, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday December 12, 2008 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Saturday from 8:00AM until service time. She died Thursday December 11, 2008 at 8:50AM in a local health care facility. A native of St. Mary Parish and longtime resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Landry was a member of The Catholic Daughters, the Rosary Group and the Home and School Association at St. Josephs School. Survivors include her husband of 75 years; Walter E. Landry, Sr. of Jeanerette, eight daughters; Marjorie LeJeune and husband Gerald Sr., Barbara Rogers, Margaret Rogers, Carolyn Daigle and husband Ira Jr., and Kay Landry all of Jeanerette, Mary Mannina and Janice Muffoletto of Broussard and Kathy Lege of Scott and two sons; Mark Landry and wife Brenda of New Iberia and Paul Landry of Nacogdoches, Texas and a daughter-in-law Faye W. Landry of Jeanerette, 50 Grandchildren, Numerous Great Grandchildren and several Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Septime and Levi Hebert Rodriguez and one son; Walter J. Landry, Jr. Pallbearers will be Michael Landry, Gerald LeJeune, Jr., David Rogers, Ira R. Daigle, Jr., Chad Muffoletto, Michael Mannina and Jarrod Lege. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark and Paul Landry. David Funeral Home, 400 Provost St., Jeanerette, La.
