New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Armond G. Broussard, 83, will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in St. Peter Catholic Church. The Reverend Charles Langlois will serve as celebrant. Interment with military honors rendered by V.F.W. Post 1982 will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Broussard passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 3:40 A.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Mr. Broussard was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and doing vigils. A faithful Catholic, Mr. Broussard attended retreats at Grand Coteau for 20 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army immediately following World War II, serving in Europe as a Military Policeman. Mr. Broussard was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal. Mr. Broussard worked for the Iberia Parish Government, retiring in the early 1980s with over 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Olite Comeaux Broussard of New Iberia; brother, Gilton Broussard of Bayou Jack Community; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Preceding Mr. Broussard in death were his parents, Edmond and Maria Broussard; and his brothers, Relius Boy Broussard, Francis Fran Broussard, and Wilton Broussard. Serving as pallbearers are Steve Broussard, Brian Broussard, Kenneth Broussard, Francis Broussard, Jr., Ronald Aucoin, and Rusty Aucoin. Named as honorary pallbearers are Dallas DeRouen and Brian K. Carline. The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Broussards caregiver, Chris Ledet.
