Russell J. Savoy

Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for Russell J. Salvo Savoy, age 75, Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 11:30AM at David Funeral Home Chapel in Jeanerette with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 10:00AM until service. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30AM in the funeral home. Mr. Savoy died Thursday, September 03, 2009 at 2:30AM in a Lafayette health care facility. He was a native of Biloxi, MS., a resident of Lafayette, and a former resident of Jeanerette. He was formerly employed with Diamond M Drilling Company as a roughneck for 15 years. He enjoyed dancing and fishing. Mr. Savoy was a former member of the Louisiana National Guard. Survivors include his son, Dewey Savoy and wife Sharon of Jeanerette; brothers, Benjamin Benny Savoy and wife Leona of Jeanerette, Curtis Savoy of Jeanerette; his sister, Audrey S. Bordelon of Marksville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oray Savoy and Mary Guillotte Savoy and his sister, Shirley S. Adams.
