Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Ernest J. Brother Landry, Jr., 67, on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 1:30 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Langlois officiating. Entombment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum. Military gravside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1982 of New Iberia.

Visitation will begin on Monday, April 30, 2007 at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed on Monday in the funeral home at 7:00 PM.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Landry died at 11:10 AM Saturday, April 28, 2007, at the V.A. Medical Center in Pineville. Mr. Landry worked in the oil field industry for Gator Hawk for 15 years and owned his own business, Landrys Custom Upholstry. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1425, VFW Post No. 8150, The 50 Plus Club and a past board member of the 8th Ward Recreation Center Board. He also was the caretaker of St. John Cemetery and in charge of the Jeanerette Food Pantry. Ernest was a volunteer driver for the V.A. Medical Center and a bus driver for the Episcopal School of Acadiana. He served in the Jeanerette unit of the Louisiana National Guard and the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Ila Cecil Condley Landry of Jeanerette; his son, Donald Landry of New Iberia; his daughters, Elaine Landry of Jeanerette and Kimberlee Spradley and her husband Darren of Harrah, OK; his brothers, John Dale Landry and his wife Susie of Jeanerette, Robert Landry and his wife Debbie of Bakersfield, CA, Ray Landry and his wife Monica of New Iberia, Rudy Landry and his wife Liz of Port Barre, Marcel Landry and his wife Angie and Rodney Landry and his wife Carolyn, all of Flordia; his sisters, Patricia McGinn and her husband Valley of New Iberia and Linda Nicoletti and her husband James of Flordia; his grandchildren, Eric Cooper, Donielle Fredericks, both of New Iberia, Nicole Landry of South Bend, IN, Bray Lynn Landry of Lydia, Benjamin Breaux of Jeanerette, Damon Landry of New Iberia and Brandon Spradley of Harrah, OK and his step-grandchildren, Brandon Landry of Jeanerette and Michelle Landry of Morgan City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest J. Landry, Sr. and Corrine Broussard Landry.

Pallbearers will be Darren Spradley, Paul, Jason, Rodney , Ray and Marcel Landry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Breaux, Damon and John Dale Landry and James Nicoletti.

David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
