Eunice Kern Barrilleaux

Loving Mother and Grandmother Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Ellis Barrilleaux the former Eunice Kern, Age 96, at 10:00AM Monday September 7, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday September 6, 2009 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00AM until service time. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette Mrs. Barrilleaux was a service representative for South Central Bell. She was a member of the telephone pioneers. She loved shopping, watching television and playing cards. Survivors include her daughter, Myrna B. Childers and husband Ralph, Sr. of Jeanerette ; grandchildren, Ralph Childers Jr. and wife Ramona of New Iberia, Keith Childers of Doraville, Georgia and Susan Childers of Moscow Idaho and her great grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Childers both of Jeanerette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Barrilleaux; parents, Emile and Daisy Pontiff Kern; four sisters, Aline Myers, Lena Guillotte, Julie Kelly and Lillian Faulk and two brothers, Sidney and Charles Kern. Pallbearers will be Ralph Childers, Jr., Keith Childers, Brandon Childers, Mike Strozik, Joey Strozik and Francis Bonin. David Funeral Home, 400 Provost St. Jeanerette, La.
