Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Erath " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Preston Delcambre, the former Virgie Broussard, 85, on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Paul Broussard officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 beginning at 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 8:00 AM until time of services. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Erath, Mrs. Delcambre died on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 3:40PM at Abbeville General Hospital. Mrs. Delcambre loved spending time with her family, shopping, eating out and going to the Casino. She is survived by seven children, Charlene Coriel and her husband Danny of Youngsville, JoAnn Delcambre and her friend Debbie Baudoin of Erath, Marty Delcambre and his friend Sandra of Carencro, Melinda Primeaux and her husband Sedrick of Henry, Marshal Delcambre and his wife Cathy of Maurice, Lisa Delcambre and her husband David Hebert of Youngsville, Adrienne Delcambre of Erath and her step-son Gerald Delcambre and his wife Shirley of New Iberia; one brother Dennis Broussard and his wife Mitzie of Erath; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and three special friends, Hillmay Thomas, Ruth Broussard, and Lula Vice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Delcambre ; her parents, Lulbria Lull Broussard and Esma Hebert; two grandchildren Colby Delcambre and Ashley Smith; two sisters, Doris Broussard and Enix Tootsie Lemaire; three brothers, Edwin Mon-Neg Broussard, Chester T-Ches Broussard, Harold T-Beb Broussard. Pallbearers will be, Colin Menard, Damian Simon, Jude Noel, Brett Delcambre, Ethan Delcambre, and Gerald Delcambre. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Simon and Guy Delcambre. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ronald Lahasky, N.P. Lisa Joubert, and the nursing staff of LTAC of Acadiana at Abbeville General.
