New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Marcel Slim Stansbury, 81, on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Jude Halphen officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed on Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.

A native of Patoutville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Stansbury died on Monday, June 4, 2007 at 7:50 AM in a Lafayette hospital. He loved playing Bourae and watching the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team.

He is survived by his three daughters, Claudette Hebert of Lafayette, Amy S. Babin and her husband Mark Babin, Sr. of New Iberia and Marcella S. Morton and her husband Justin Morton of Carencro; his adopted daughter, Darlene M. Smith of Jeanerette; his brother, Roland Stansbury of Jeanerette; his grandsons, Bryan Hebert of Longview, TX, Mark Wayne Babin, Jr.and Marty Wade Babin both of New Iberia; his granddaughters, Alyssa Renee Babin and Alyson Marie Babin both of New Iberia; his grandsons, Jake Allen Morton and Jerry Storm Morton both of Carencro and his granddaughter, Mackenzie Renee Morton of Carencro.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Tullier Stansbury; his parents, Sam Stansbury and Agatha Boudreaux Stansbury; his sisters, Sedonia LeBlanc, Selena LeBlanc and Laura Mae Pepper and his brother, Leonard Stansbury.

Pallbearers will be Justin Morton, Bryan Hebert, Jake Morton, Gerard Dufrene, Mark Wayne Babin, Jr. and Marty Babin.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Morton.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
