New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Vanice J. Yonk Bourque, 86, on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Mark Derise officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 7, 2007 beginning at 8:00 AM until services and a rosary will be prayed on Thursday morning in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. A native of Iberia Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bourque died on Monday, June 4, 2007 at 7:40 PM in a local nursing home. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. He is survived by his grandson, Toby Bourque of New Iberia; his granddaughter, Tina Bourque Melancon and her husband Johnny of Coteau; his sisters, Velta Bourque Fremin and her husband Ray, Sr. and Evilie Bourque Chevalon and his brother, Roy Bourque all of New Iberia. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Belle Romero Bourque; his parents, Pierre Bourque and Paula Derouen Bourque; his son, John Abdon Bourque; his grandson, Todd Bourque; his brother, Lenis Bourque and his sisters, Nellion Bourque Hollman, Anna Mae Bourque Robicheaux and Rella Bourque LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be David and Ross Fremin, Tab and Toby Bourque, Jhonnie and Dusty Melancon. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
