LOVING BROTHER AND UNCLE Jeanerette"A Mass of Christian Burial for Eljay Chucky Stevens, 39, will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Ed Degeyter will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Chucky passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 11:05 A.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Chucky was a member of the Catholic faith. Survivors include brothers, George Stevens, Jr. and Neil Stevens, Sr., both of Jeanerette; sister, Alice Brooker of Jeanerette; as well as several other relatives. Preceding Chucky in death were his parents, George Stevens, Sr. and Marie Derouen Stevens and his brother Jace Stevens, Sr. Serving as pallbearers are George Alvarez, Nicholas Brooker, Jace Stevens, Jr., Billy Stevens, David Stevens, Robert Stevens, George Stevens, Jr., and Neil Stevens. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
