Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for William J. Hank Menard, 74, will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 1:30PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Doug Courville officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 from 1:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, May 24, 2007 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Mr. Menard a native and resident of Erath died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 12:07PM at Abbeville. He retired from Diamond Crystal Salt Mine, and then went work at the Vermilion Parish Sheriff Department where he retired after over 15 years of service. He also was a member of the Erath American Legion, and enjoyed going meet the guys at Moonoos to play booray. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rita Richard Menard of Erath; two sons, Tracy Menard and his wife Robin Menard of Youngsville, and Corey Menard of Erath; one daughter, Vicky Menard of Erath; four grandchildren, Shawn Adams, Justin Menard, and Karter Menard all of Erath, and Austin Menard of Youngsville; two brothers, Antoine Menard and Jean Douglas Menard both of Metairie; and one sister, Laura M. Primeaux of Erath. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ophelies and Agnes Cormier Menard; and a daughter, Carlotta Menard. Pallbearers will be Corey Menard, Shawn Adams, Tracy Menard, Royal Mayard, Tony Richard, and Rodney Dugas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin, Justin and Karter Menard. David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling arrangements.
