Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Daughter St. Martinville"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Richard LeBlanc, Sr., the former Laura Picard, 38, will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. The Reverend Austin Leger will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Broussard Cemetery, Bayou Petit Anse Community. Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, and will continue until service time in the funeral home. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home. Mrs. LeBlanc passed away on Wednesday, January 02, 2008 at 8:50 A.M. in her rural Iberia Parish residence. A native of Lafayette and longtime resident of the New Iberia area, Mrs. LeBlanc was a member of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. She enjoyed French and zydeco music, as well as oldies and country music. Her greatest joy was spending time with and caring for her family. Survivors include her husband, Richard LeBlanc, Sr. of New Iberia; mother, Pauline Picard and companion, Antoine Sonnier; daughters, Angelia LeBlanc of New Iberia, Cecily LeBlanc of New Iberia, and Crystal LeBlanc of Lafayette; sons, Richard LeBlanc, Jr. of New Iberia and Travis LeBlanc of New Iberia; sisters, Cindy Mire and husband, Mercy of New Iberia, Linda Picard of New Iberia, and Tina Picard of Catahoula; brothers, John Picard of New Iberia and Paul Picard of New Iberia; Godchildren, Joshua Bonin of New Iberia, Cody Maturin of St. Martinville, and Treylin LeBlanc of Catahoula; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Preceding Mrs. LeBlanc in death was her father, Jean Batiste Picard. Serving as pallbearers are Richard LeBlanc, Jr., Travis LeBlanc, David Baudoin, Mercy Mire, Ricky Mire, and Paul Picard. Named as honorary pallbearers are Richard LeBlanc, Sr., Shane Baudoin, Randy Bonin, Alfonso Dominguez, Calvin LeBlanc, and Jerry LeBlanc. David Funeral Home of New Iberia at 1101 Trotter Street, 337-369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
