Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Willis J. Gerard will be held on Monday, May 28, 2007 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Deacon Cody Miller officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2007 from 11:00AM to 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, May 28, 2007 from 8:00AM until time of services. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Gerard, a native of Youngsville and a life long resident of Milton, died on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 2:15AM at Lafayette. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and an avid sportsman. He is survived by his wife, Bernice B. Gerard; two sons, John Lee Gerard, Sr. and his wife Elizabeth of Broussard and Patrick Gerard and his wife Cynthia of Starkville, MS; two daughters, Catherine Gerard of Milton and Angela Gerard- Luman of Scott; three brothers, Norris Gerard of Youngsville, Allen Gerard of Lafayette and Sidney Gerard of Peaks Island, Maine; six grandchildren, John Lee Gerard, Jr., who he raised, Zachary J. Gerard, Randall J. Gerard, Rachel M. Gerard, Erin E. Gerard and Ashley J. Luman; and two great grandchildren, Keegan Michael and Cooper Willis Gerard. He is preceded in death by his parents Ix Gerard and Naomie Breaux Gerard; and two brothers, Eugene and Cleveland Gerard. Pallbearers will be John Lee Gerard, Sr., John Lee Gerard, Jr., Zachary Gerard, Patrick Gerard, Eddie Gerard, and Clifford Viator. Honorary Pallbearers will be Keegan Michael Gerard and Cooper Willis Gerard. David Funeral Home of Lafayette will be handling arrangements.
