Coteau " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. John C. Chatagnier, 83, the former Olive Marie Viator on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Barry Crochet officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.

A native of Coteau, Mrs. Chatagnier died on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 6:45 AM at her residence in Baton Rouge, LA. Years ago Mrs. Chatagnier worked at Morgan & Lindsey Five and Dime Department Store in New Iberia. She loved her plants, her pet kitty, Kitty Boo and most of all her family.

Visitation will begin on Monday, May 28, 2007 at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 PM.

She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Lundberg of Odessas, TX, Angela Hart of Jackson, MS, Carla Rhodes and her husband Harlan of Houma, LA, Florence Miller and her husband Glenn of Cruger, MS, Donna Boudreaux and her husband Steve of Pearl, MS and Jamie Taylor and her husband Steve of Baton Rouge, LA; her sons, Johnny Chatagnier and his wife Elaine of Iowa, LA and Dale Chatagnier and his wife Charla of New Orleans, LA; her sisters, Anita V. Broussard and her husband A. D. of Broussard, Linda V. Giarratino ane her husband Joe, Lucy V. Russo and her husband Ernest and Charlene Guillot all of New Iberia, LA and her brother, Howard P. Viator and his wife Rita Mae of Youngsville, LA. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Chatagnier, Sr.; her parents, Ovey Viator and Elmina Blanchard Viator, her son, Rev. Gene Chatagnier, her sisters, Liz Viator and Clara David and her brothers, Alexis, Johnny and Tony Viator.

Pallbearers will be Eric Chatagnier, Blake Chatagnier, Stevie Boudreaux, Hunter Miller, Brandon Taylor, Glenn Broussard, Fred Hart, Timmy Broussard, Todd Miller and Thad Miller.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
