Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Lloyd D. Cason, Sr., the former Rachel Upton, 85, will be held Friday, June 1, 2007 at 2:00PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Erath with Msgr. Douglas Courville officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 31, 2007 at David Funeral Home of Erath from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday June 1, 2007 at 8:00AM until the time of services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Mrs. Cason a native of New Iberia and a resident of Erath died on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in Jefferson, LA. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and had been a religious education teacher for several years. She also loved flowers, sewing and crafts. She is survived by three sons, Lloyd D. Cason, Jr. and his wife Dianna of Kingwood, TX, Thomas J. Cason and his wife Claudette of Lafayette and John C. Cason, Sr. and his wife Brenda of Lafayette; a daughter Lyndal R. Cason and her husband Gene Romero of New Orleans; a brother, J. C. Upton, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Houston; eight grandchildren, Dawn Brechtel and her husband Tim of New Orleans, Caroline Stevens and her husband Jim of Kingwood, TX, Lauren Cason of New York City, NY, Michael Cason of Lafayette, Daniel Cason of Baton Rouge, John Cason, Jr. of Youngsville, Mandy Cason of Richmond, VA and Rebecca Cason of Lafayette; and two great grandchildren, Andrew Brechtel of New Orleans and Kathleen Brechtel of New Orleans. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd D. Cason, Sr.; and her parents, John Chancellor Upton and Inez Boutte Upton. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling the arrangements.
