Maw Maw Bet New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Chester Derouen, Sr. the former Elizabeth Ozenne, Age 87, at 11:00AM Saturday August 15, 2009 at St. Nicholas Catholic in Lydia with Father Donovan Labbe officiating. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Mausoleum in Patoutville. Visitation will be Friday August 14, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Saturday August 15, 2009 from 8:00AM until service time. A native of Grand Marais and a resident of New Iberia Mrs. DeRouen died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 6:35 PM in a local health care facility. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She worked side by side with her husband of 42 years. Survivors include her children, Joann D. Jones of Lafayette, Geraldine D. Verdun of Grand Marais, Chester DeRouen, Jr. and Estelita D. Broussard both of New Iberia and Joseph Tyrone DeRouen, Sr. of Youngsville; one brother, John Ozenne of Lafayette; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester DeRouen, Sr.; her parents, Joseph and Elva Singleton Ozenne; her step mother, Ethel Olivier Ozenne; three sisters, Helen Broussard, Hazel Fascio and Bessie Broussard, and one brother, Joseph Ozenne,Jr. Pallbearers will be Michael A Guillory., Mitchell P.Guillory, Jerrod J. Guillory, Joseph T. DeRouen,II, Brandon J. DeRouen, Chester DeRouen, III, Patrick R. DeRouen, and Barrett J. Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Chester DeRouen, Jr. Tyrone DeRouen, Sr., Ransom B. Jones, Jr., Charles W. Wilson and Alvin P. Verdun.
