St. Martin Parish"Private memorial services for Ernestine Roberts Robbie Rockwell, 61, will be held at a later date. A native of Calhoun and longtime resident of the New Iberia/St. Martinville area, Robbie passed away on Thursday, June 07, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. in her rural St. Martin Parish residence. Robbie was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau. She had traveled extensively throughout the United States, having lived in the states of Colorado, Washington, Mississippi, and North Dakota. Louisiana, though, was always where she considered home. Robbie was accomplished at many crafts, including crochet, and she enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was a dental prosthetics technician employed by Delahoussaye Dental Lab in Lafayette. Survivors include her daughter, Shauna K. Rockwell of Tacoma, WA; sons, Shane D. Rockwell and wife, Arlene of Ft. Worth, TX and Michael S. DeRouen and wife, Deanna of Tacoma, WA; sisters, Norma DeRouen of St. Martinville and Anne Roberts of Tucson, AZ; brothers, Robert Mack Roberts and wife, Kim of Benton, AR, Clayton H. Humphrey and wife, Diane of New Iberia, and Roy L. Humphrey and wife, Marlene of Dennard, AR; step-father, James Slim Guillory; and 7 grandchildren. Preceding Robbie in death were her father, Robert Louis Roberts; mother, Hazel Hughes Guillory; and brothers, Louis Albert Roberts, George Wayne Roberts, and Rex Allen Humphrey. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
