Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Lionel J. Lachaussee, 98, will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Duet officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Friday, May 11, 2007 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery. Mr. Lachaussee a native of Grosse Isle and a resident of Lafayette died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 8:10AM at Lafayette. He worked at Riviana Rice Mills of 13yrs, than at Entex for over 25 years. He was known for his love of gardening and taking care of his animals. He is survived by two grandsons, Walter and his wife Cynthia Lachaussee of Erath, and Phillippe Lachaussee of Erath; four great grandchildren, Samantha Lachaussee and St. Julien Lachaussee of Erath, and Nicholas Lachaussee and Jessie Lachaussee of Dry Prong; and two sisters, Laurence Victor, and Mona. He is Preceded in death by his wife, Lanie Boudreaux; his parents, St. Julien and Ida Boudreaux Lachaussee; a son, Oray and his wife; seven sisters and six brothers. Pallbearers will be Paul LeBouef, Phillippe, Nicholas, Samantha, and Keith Lachaussee, and Pearly Broussard. Honorary Pallbearers will be St. Julien and Jesse Lachaussee The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana and Maison de Lafayette Nursing Center and staff. David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling the arrangements.
