St. Martinville - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Alcee Frederick, 100, the former Alicia YaYa Blanchard on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with Rev. Austin Lege officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Dion Hall in Catahoula beginning on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed at the hall on Monday at 7:00 PM. A native of Loreauville, a resident of Breaux Bridge and a former resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Frederick died on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 3:39 AM in a Breaux Bridge nursing facility. She was a member of the St. Ritas Catholic Daughters and she loved to fish and play bingo. She is survived by her sons, Jerry B. Conrad of New Iberia, Claude Broussard and his wife Genevieve of Coteau Holmes and Gary Broussard and his wife Helen of Cecilia; and her daughter, Denise Blanchard and her husband Carroll of New Iberia. She was also survived by 34 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alcee Frederick; her parents, Joseph and Alice Blanchard; her sons, Murphy, Larry, Willis, and Jacob Broussard; her daughter, Rita H. Melancon; her sisters, Jeanne Theriot, Mae Crochet, Annette Martin, Marie Louise Crochet and Angelle Boudreaux; her brothers, Felix and Sidney Blanchard and her first husband, Denie Broussard, Jr.. Pallbearers will be Matt, Jonathan, Keenan, Mike and Chris Broussard and Anthony Conrad. Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Broussard. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
