New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Raybon Herring, the former Ruby Lee Busby, age 90, Sunday August 9, 2009 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia Reverend Ed Downs officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be Saturday August 8, 2009 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume Sunday at 8:00AM until service. A native of Dierks, Arkansas and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Herring died Thursday August 6, 2009 at 4:05PM at her residence. She was a devoted mother and wife. She was a Mary Kay consultant for 43 years, a hairdresser and a cosmetologist. Mrs. Herring was a member of First Baptist Church, Winsome Sunday School Class and the Eastern Star. Survivors include her son, John R. Herring and wife Joan Breaux Herring of New Iberia; daughters, Jane Becky Harang and husbandWarren Harang III of Donaldsonville, Janice Sonnier and husband Sedrick Shine Sonnier of Breaux Bridge; daughter-in-law, Cindy Broussard Herring of New Iberia; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by her husband, Raybon Herring; parents, John H. Busby and Henrietta Littlefield Busby; her son, James R. Herring; brothers, Tom Wilson, Andrew Busby, George L. Busby and Ben H. Busby; sisters, Lela Wilson Hale, Gladys Busby, Jessie Busby, Jessie Busby Creasy, Lillian Busby Garretson, and Mattie Busby Herring; and daughter-in-law, Joann Edler Herring. Serving as Pallbearers will be Britton Herring, Carson W. Sonnier, Warren J. Harang IV, Joshua J. Herring, Lee W. Harang, and Adam L. Sonnier.Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Journey Hospice, her angels and caregivers; Rita, Margie, Jackie, Lisa, Rosemary, Lucy, Dinah, Agnes, Evelyn, Anita, Delores, Shelia, Elaine and her closest friends.
