Erath- A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph J.C. Romero, 73, will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Duet officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Monday, January 14, 2008 beginning at 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Mr. J.C. a native and resident of Erath died at 11:35AM on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Abbeville General Hospital. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was also well liked by the close friends that knew him well. He enjoyed bar-b-que cookouts with friends and family, and being outdoors was one of his greatest pleasures. He was employed by LeBlanc and Broussard, now known as Arceneaux Ford in New Iberia, for over 20 years. He also owned Js Carpet Room in Erath. His love of Music brought in many different entertainers such as, Warren Storm, Tommy McLain, Johnny Allen, Charles Mann, Wayne Toups, and the Touchet Brothers just to name a few. Anyone that knew him could depend on him to provide a Classic Cajun French Band for their Sunday afternoon entertainment. His garden was part of his final past times and he had no problem burdening his wife with helping when he couldnt get things done just right. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him, especially his beer buddies at Moo Noos City Bar in Erath.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Brenda Miguez Romero; one daughter, Donna Hebert and her husband Louis of Kaplan; one daughter in law, Donna Faye Romero of Abbeville; his wifes children, Chris Veazey of New Iberia and Joey Veazey of Coteau, Michelle Veazey Boudreaux and her husband Clint of Coteau; Eleven grandchildren, Ryan Frederick and his wife Trina, Jill Frederick, Jonathan Faulk and his fiance Tiffany Broussard, Matthew Faulk and his fiance Andrea Dupuy, Shawn Romero and his Friend Katie all of Abbeville, Nicole Lange and her husband Neil of Rowlett, TX, Jesse Romero of Arizona, Christopher and Emily Veazey of New Iberia, Blake and Hannah Veazey of Rayne and Mikalyn Boudreaux of Coteau, four great grandchildren, Claire Frederick, Dane and Madison Cessac and Breanna Lange; He will soon have two more great grandchildren that he will never know 10 nieces and nephews; three sisters, Shirley and her husband Kenneth Viator, Lollian Broussard, and Gloria Dean Romero.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Olina Romero; a son, Randall James Romero; a daughter, Sheryl Ann Romero; a grandson, Randy James Romero, a nephew, Chad Viator; and a great nephew, Ryan Viator.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Frederick, Matthew Faulk, Jonathan Faulk, Shawn Romero, Chris Veazey, Joey Veazey, and Clint Boudreaux.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Louis Hebert, Kenneth Viator, Neil Lange, Leewood Moo Noo Domingue, Allen Comeaux, and Delay Duplantis.
