View Video Tribute Kenneth M. Moncla Services for Kenneth M. Moncla, 66, will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve LeBlanc officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed Monday, June 25, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 8:00 AM until the time of service. A native of Patoutville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Moncla died at 4:09 PM Friday, June 22, 2007, in a local hospital. Mr. Moncla was a branch manager at First Federal Savings and Loan in St. Martinville, where he was employed at the bank for 30 plus years. After retirement from the bank, he became part owner of Pro Log Well Services for several years after which he retired for a second time. He was a past member of the Iberia Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of the Cajun Connoisseur Supper Club. He also served in the Louisiana National Guard in the New Iberia Unit. During his retirement he enjoyed rodiaying with his dog Lucky. He spent much time at his camp Getting Closer with family and friends. He loved boating and fishing and always proclaimed to have caught the largest fish in the group. He is survived by his wife, Girdie Landry Moncla of New Iberia; son, Brad M. Moncla and wife Lauri; two granddaughters, Lea Marie and Anna Marie Moncla, all of Lake Jackson, Texas; mother, Mildred Myers Moncla of Lafayette; a sister, Millie M. Young and husband Richard A. Young of Brighton, Colo.; and a brother, Tom Michael Moncla and wife Linda Decuir Moncla of Lafayette. Mr. Moncla was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Sonny Moncla; and a son, Scott David Moncla. Pallbearers will be Tom Moncla, Richard Young, Pat Landry, Joe Viator, Charles Porche and Jerry Streva. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Feldman, Lawrence Golden Jr., Tony Schwing and Dr. David Rinaldi. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
