New Iberia ~ Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Desire J. Dutile, Sr., the former Loretta Romero, age 82 at 10:00 AM Saturday June 30, 2007 at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Salvino (Ruben) Primore officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be observed Thursday June 28, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday June 29, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Saturday June 30, 2007 from 8:00 AM till Services. A rosary will be prayed Friday June 29, 2007 at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dutile died Wednesday June 27, 2007 at 8:18 AM in a New Iberia Hospital. Mrs. Dutile was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia. She enjoyed flowers and working in her flower beds, baking and sewing.

She is survived by her children, Desire J. Dutile, Jr. and his wife, Susan, and Ronnie J. Dutile and his wife, Marisa both of New Iberia, and Mitchell J. Dutile and his wife, Nicole of Coteau, Marion D. Viator and her husband, Eddie, Barbara D. Alleman, Judy D. Bourque, and Tina D. Olivier and her husband, Ricky all of New Iberia, Geraldine D. Bourque of Mena, AR and Ann D. Schmidt and her husband, Tim of Roscommon, MI; her brother, Wallace Romero of New Iberia; sisters-in-law, Elsie Romero of Galveston, TX and Mary Talley of St. Martinville; brother-in-law Willie Poirier of New Iberia; a close friend, Jackie Tyler of New Iberia; Godchildren Mona Romero, Patsy Beach and Lisa Derouen; her caretakers, Tony and Desire Morvant of New Iberia; and her loving dog, Baby Girl . Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Desire J. Dutile, Sr.; her parents Simon Romero, Eddie Poirrier, and Noelie Romero; a brother, Woodrow Red Romero; sisters Neoma Derouen and Laura Mae Poirier; and a sister-in-law, Nola Romero.

Serving as pallbearers will be Desire J. Dutile, Jr., Ronnie Dutile, Justin Dutile, Tony Morvant, Clayton Romero, and Michael Touchet. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Dutile, Todd Dutile, Blaine Champagne, Charles Beller, Bud Duhon, Jeremy Dupuis, Jack Schmidt, Tim Schmidt, Eddie Viator, Ricky J. Olivier, Sr. Wally Romero, Willie Poirier, and Frank Landry.
