New Iberia"Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd John Blanch Blanchard, 76, will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008at 2:00 PMin the David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Salvino Fr. Ruben Primor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at 9:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:30 PM.
A native of Loreauville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Blanchard died on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at 12:39 PM upon arrival at a New Iberia hospital. He retired after 14 years of employment at Acadian Regional Airport as Asst. Maintenance Supervisor. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era having served in the U. S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Badeaux Blanchard of New Iberia; his daughter, Ashley Blanchard of New Iberia; his step-daughters, Kathleen Latiolais of Delcambre and Connie Delcambre of New Iberia; his step-son, Craig Derouen of Delcambre and his sister, Anna Mae B. Guyote of New Iberia. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Olympe Trahan Blanchard; his step-sons, Adam and Wilton Smith; his brothers, Stanley and Albert Blanchard; his sisters, Odette B. Trimble and Cecile Blanchard and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Randy Toups, Jessie Badeaux, Tony Latiolais, Mark Delcambre, Brandon Delcambre and Wiley Badeaux. Craig Derouen will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
