New Iberia"Funeral services for Mrs. Lawrence Wiltz Bourque, the former Aline LeBlanc, 91, will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Ed Degeyter will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue all night until service time on Wednesday in the funeral home.
Mrs. Bourque passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 1:15 A.M. in a New Iberia hospital.
A native of Delcambre and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bourque was a member of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed listening to French music and playing pokeno. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Elwood Big Red Bourque and wife, Kathy of New Iberia, Jarwin T-Red Bourque of New Iberia, Jim Bourque and companion, Sandra of New Iberia, Bobby Bourque and wife, Karen of Houma, and Regan Bourque, Sr. and wife, Carmen of New Iberia; daughter, Judy Meyers and husband, Alton of Delcambre; and brother, Irby Blue Leblanc and wife, Minnie of Pineville. Mrs. Bourque is also survived by over 30 grandchildren and over 40 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mrs. Bourque in death were her husband, Lawrence Wiltz Bourque; her parents, Hubert and Anna LeBlanc; son, Ivan Joseph Rev Bourque; granddaughters, Martha Jean Bourque and Mary Beth Asbury; great-grandson, Damian Michael Monteaux; sisters, Mrs. Noella Steen, Mrs. Edley DeRouen, Mrs. Ledie Segura, Mrs. Jeanne Langlinais, and Mrs. Eunice Duplantis; and brothers, Noelas LeBlanc, Dudley LeBlanc, Dalton LeBlanc, Eudes LeBlanc, Estin LeBlanc, and Edwin Karo LeBlanc.
Serving as pallbearers are Paul Bourque, Jarwin Bourque, Jr., Jamie Meyers, Casey Bourque, Regan Bourque, Jr., and Shawn Bourque. Named as pallbearers are Richard Hebert, Jeremy Hotard, Tyler Hotard, Brandon Vergenal, Justin Delahoussaye, and John Bourque.
David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, is in charge of arrangements.
