Metairie, LA " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Owen J. Trahant, Sr., Age 86, at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 2, 2007 at Tharp- Sontheimer- Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, 1600 North Causeway Blvd. Metairie, LA. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Mausoleum in Metairie, LA. He died Friday June 29, 2007 at 12:30 PM at New Iberia Manor South Nursing Home. A native of Houma, LA, Mr. Trahant was a resident of Jefferson, LA for 55 years and has been a resident of New Iberia for the past 5 years. He served on the USS Ticondaroga in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was also a salesman for Trahant Inc. for many years. Survivors include two sons; Owen J. Trahant, Jr. of New Iberia, LA and Robert J. Trahant and his wife Michelle D. of Kenner, LA; his grandchildren, M. Andree T. Price and her husband Raymond of Algiers, LA, Renee A. Trahant and Nicole T. Landry and her husband Shane all of New Iberia, LA, Robert J. Trahant, Jr. and his wife Marianne of Kenner, LA, Keith J. Trahant and Michelle A. Trahant both of Metairie, LA and a sister; Meredith T. Davis of Albuquerque, NM. He was also survived by 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Hebert Trahant; his parents, Alphonse J. Trahant, Jr. and Bertha Thibodeaux Trahant; his brother, Elbert J. Trahant; his sister, Bertie Ann T. Kramer and his daughter in law; Suzanne Raymond Trahant. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
