Elias Doucet, Jr.

Abbeville- A Mass of Christian Burial for Elias "Junior" Doucet, Jr., 55, will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 11:00AM at St. John Church in Henry, LA with Fr. Matthew officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, September 21, 2007 from 8:00AM until time of service. Interment will be at a later date at St. Paul Cemetery.

Mr. Doucet, a native and resident of Abbeville, died on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 in Beaumont, TX. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Kam Chapman Doucet of Abbeville; his father, Elias Doucet, Sr. of New Iberia; his mother, Shirley Labit Caillouet and her husband Rudy of Abbeville; two sons, Heath Doucet of Abbeville and Brandon Doucet of Abbeville; six daughters, Tamara Doucet Touchet of Forked Island, Courtney Yelton Jean of Pensacola, FL, Desiree Doucet of Woodbridge, VA, Miranda Doucet of Houston, TX, Lauren Griffin of Abbeville and Camille Griffin of Abbeville; three brothers, Anthony Theriot of Abbeville, Cody Caillouet of Abbeville and Will Caillouet of Erath; two sisters, Sherry Suire of Erath and Vickie LeMaire of Abbeville; and four grandchildren, Braden Doucet of Erath, Allie Touchet of Forked Island, Damian Touchet, Jr. of Forked Island and Christian Welch of Woodbridge, VA.

He is preceded in death by his brother Francis Theriot.

Pallbearers will be Heath Doucet, Patches Suire, Cody Caillouet, Will Caillouet, Anthony Theriot and David Dent.

David Funeral Home of Abbeville will be handling arrangements.
