George Lloyd Broussard

September 4, 1929 — February 3, 2008

Abbeville " Memorial Services for George Lloyd Broussard, 78, will be held at 5:30PM on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Abbeville. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Mr. Broussard a native and resident of Abbeville died at 10:25PM on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during WWII from 1946 until 1957. Then he worked for the Department of Social Services from March of 1963 till his retirement in July of 1986. After retirement, he worked at Lafayette General Medical Center as a Financial Counselor from September 1986 until his death. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Brasseux and her husband Gerald of Abbeville, and Ginger Broussard of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Guy Dyson of Abbeville, Suzette Dyson Gaucys of Dallas, TX, Michael Broussard of Lafayette, Michelle Broussard of Lafayette, Gerrod Brasseux of New Iberia, Virginia Meche of Abbeville, and Barrett Brasseux of Abbeville; and two sisters, Yvonne Teeter of Baton Rouge, and Dixie Saucier of Eunice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Touchet Broussard; and his parents, Lloyd and Martha Broussard. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donation be made to The First Presbyterian Church at 109 N. Louisiana Ave. Abbeville, LA 70510.
