New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Robert Emmet Froisy, the former Thelma Broussard, 93, of New Iberia will be celebrated on Monday, July 9, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. The Reverend Charles Langlois will serve as celebrant, with Deacon John Sarkies serving as concelebrant. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2007 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Froisy passed away on Thursday, July 05, 2007 at 5:26 A.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Froisy was valedictorian of her 1931 Mt. Carmel Academy graduating class. She was a devoted member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Froisy had served as a volunteer Pink Lady at Iberia Medical Center. She enjoyed playing bridge and visiting with friends and family. Survivors include her son, Glenn J. Froisy and wife, Daisy of Thibodaux; and a sister, Rita Mae Cestia of New Iberia. Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert Emmet Froisy; parents, Joseph Daphis and Sarah Walsh Broussard; brothers, J.D. Broussard and William Walsh Billy Broussard; and sisters, Janet Broussard and Wilda LeJeune. Serving as pallbearers are friends and family of Mrs. Froisy. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Catholic High School Endowment Fund, 1301 deLaSalle Drive, New Iberia, LA 70560.
