Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 for Mr. Maurice L. Richard, age 90. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home in Lafayette on Tuesday January 8, 2008 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM and will resume on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 from 8:00AM until services. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard. Mr. Richard, a native and resident of Broussard , died at Lafayette General Medical Center at 10:15PM on January 6, 2008. Mr. Richard served his country in the United States Marines for four years and later re-inlisted in the Air Corps for another four years, where he served in Europe in World War II. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nemeze Bernard Richard of Broussard; his son Ted Richard and his wife Sue of Broussard; sister-in-law, Beverly Richard of Lafayette; nieces and nephews, Don Bernard and his wife Sharon of Broussard, Terry Richard of Lafayette,Brenda Guilbeaux of Lafayette, Larry Richard of Lafayette, Eros Lou LeBlanc of Lafayette, Mark Bernard and his wife Kim and their children, Grace, Matthew, and Sam of Rayne, David Bernard and his wife Allison and their child Nathan and Vickie Spangler and her husband Jake of Franklin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Julia Guidry Richard; Brothers, Maxim, Charles, Dennis, Paul and Alex Richard; his nephews, Wilbert Richard, Bryan Richard and Richard Dale Richard and one niece Jerrie Ann Vincent. Pallbearers will be Dirk Vincent, Terry Richard, Don Bernard, Mark Bernard, David Bernard and Jake Spangler. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Acadiana 2600 Johnston Street Suite 200, Lafayette, La. 70503, in Mr. Maurice Richard's name.
