New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Marie C. Myers, 88, on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 PM.

A native of Cow Island, resident of Abbeville and a former resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Myers died on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 7:50 AM in an Abbeville hospital. She loved fishing, crabbing, horseback riding, traveling, being with all her family and was the best french fry maker in town.

She is survived by her daughter, Faye Hunt and her husband Ron; her son, Jerry Myers and his wife Jeannie; her daughter, Barbara Touchet and her husband Carol; her son, Mike Myers and her daughter, Linda Gail Myers all of New Iberia; her step-sons, Gene Myers and his wife Phylliss of Rayne and Andrew Myers, Jr. and his wife Melba of Lake Charles; a family friend, Raymond Tauzin of New Iberia; her sisters, Josephine Derouen and her husband Jay and Hilda Sickafus both of Lake Charles and her brother, Adam Cob Conner and his wife Carla of South Carolina. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Myrtle Vallette Conner; her sons, Robert and Patrick Myers; her daughter, Bonnie Myers Darby; her granddaughter, Kacie Marie Myers: her husband, Frenchie Myers and her two brothers, George and Joseph L. Conner.

Pallbearers will be Ron Hunt, Mike Myers, Jerry Myers, Raymond Tauzin, Linda Gail Myers and Chance Myers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Myers, Robert Myers, Tony Hunt, J. J. Myers, Jeff Myers, Shane Myers, Jude Myers and Carol Touchet.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to defray funeral expenses.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
