Erath - Henry Harold Bodin, 85, of Port Arthur, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the home of John and Kathy Borne of Nederland. Born in Erath, Louisiana to Sidney and Duclide Menard Bodin, December 1, 1921 Henry served in the U.S. Army during World War II from October 1942 to December 1945. He served in the Battles and Campaigns in Arnennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Served as a Technical Sergeant with Company "B", "44" Armored Infantry Battalion having been awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He moved to Port Arthur April, 1945 and was employed by Gulf Oil and Chevron Oil Company and retired November, 1985 as supervisor in the Carpenter Shop. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas. Henry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Hazel Broussard Bodin; his sisters, Hazel Bodin Dugas and Shirley Bodin; brother Harris J. Bodin; sister-in-law, Elder Richard and brother-in-law, Fred Dugas. Henry is survived by his sisters, Irene Bodin Granger and husband John of Groves, Texas, Janel Bodin Duhon and husband Jimmy of Crowley, Louisiana, Vernola Bodin Guilbeau and husband Paul A. of Lafayette, Louisiana; and three brothers, Curtis Bodin of New Iberia, Louisiana, Lloyd J. Bodin and wife Zoe of Port Arthur, Texas, and Nolan J. Bodin and wife Phyllis of Covington, Louisiana. His special adopted family Tila Flores, John and Kathy Borne, Pat and Joe Trumble all of Nederland, Diana and Floyd Durbin of Port Arthur and Caroline Harkins of Houston, Texas. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm, Thursday with a rosary at 6 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3648 Stf Sgt Lucian Adams Dr. in Port Arthur, under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will also be at, David's Funeral Home, 209 East Putman, in Erath, Louisiana, Friday, August 31, from 4-9 pm with a rosary at 6 pm, and again at 8 AM until 10 AM Saturday morning at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with interment to follow at the church cemetery in Erath. Memorial contributions my be made to the Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, 2450 N. Major Dr., Beaumont, Texas 77713, Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, Port Arthur, of to any church of your choice.
