M. J. "Bolo" Fitch

November 25, 1921 — August 30, 2007

Abbeville- Private services for M. J. "Bolo" Fitch, 85, will be held at a later date. Interment will be at St. Nicholas Cemetery. Mr. Fitch, a native of Patoutville and a resident of Abbeville, died on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 6:25PM at Abbeville General Hospital. He worked in the oilfield for over 40 years and retired as superintendent. He is survived by a son, Mike Fitch and his wife Peggy of Jeanerette; three daughters, Mary Peltier and her husband Steven of Erath, Elizabeth Fitch of Abbeville and Debbie Fitch of Alexandria; two brothers, Sylvester Fitch of Raceland and Walter Fitch of Jeanerette; three sisters, Terese Romero of Jeanerette, Patches McLeod of Charenton and Shirley Duhon of Jeanerette; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Gilbert Fitch; his father, Rillius Fitch; his mother, Ament Bonin Fitch; a son, Gerald Fitch; two daughters, Suzanne Fitch and Patricia Fitch; three brothers, Black Fitch, Shorty Fitch and Jimmy Fitch; and two sisters, Corinne Lancon and Daisy Guillotte. David Funeral Home of Abbeville will be handling arrangements.
