Abbeville- A Mass of Christian Burial for Elie Hebert, 94, will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, September 7, 2009 with Fr. Kenneth Mayne officiating . Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville beginning on Sunday, September 6, 2009 from 10:00AM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, September 7, 2009 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum. Mr. Hebert a native of Maurice and at resident of Abbeville died at 11:45AM on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at his residence. He was known for his great sense of humor. He is survived by a grandson, Carlin LeBlanc and his wife Louise of Abbeville; a granddaughter, Rachel Pedigo and her husband Donald of Perry; five great grandchildren, Shalin Landry and her husband Todd, Cody Chandler and his wife Ashley, Shane LeBlanc and financee Monica Bourque, David LeBlanc and wife April , and Megan LeBlanc Dubois and her husband David; four step great grandchildren, John McBride, Albert McBride, Samuel McBride and his wife Kim, and William McBride; a great great grandchild, Tanner Landry; five step great great grandchildren, Tylor Landry, Tate Landry, Angelique Istre, Benjamin McBride, and Andy McBride; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Davidson Hebert; his parents, Adam Hebert and Augustine Bourque; a daughter, Dolores Hebert LeBlanc, three brothers, Alcee Hebert, Emile Hebert, and Elias Hebert; and six sisters, Edita LeBlanc, Edna LeBlanc, Edmay Duhon, Ida Daugereau, Aline Hebert, and Dorothy Abshire. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane LeBlanc, David LeBlanc, Todd Landry, Cody Chandler, Donald Pedigo, and Carlin LeBlanc. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Alvin LeBlanc, David Dubois, Tanner Landry. David Funeral Home of Abbeville at 2600 Charity St. (337)893-3777 will be handling the arrangements.
