Curley Joseph Romero

Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial for Curley Joseph Romero, 65, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard with Fr. Peter officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, January 13, 2008 beginning at 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:30PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, January 14, 2008 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.

Mr. Curley a native and resident of Coteau died at 4:20AM on Friday, January 11, 2008 at his residence. He and his son own C-J-R Refrigeration and was formerly partners with his brother and ran C. Joseph Inc. He also worked for Butcher Manufacturing, Hoyt Manufacturing and Bruce's Food. He Bred and raised quarter horses and thoroughbreds for racing, and was a lifetime member of AGHA.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Gary Romero of Coteau; his mother, Louise Romero of Coteau; a son, Scot and his wife Kyla Romero of Broussard; a daughter, Stacee and her husband Ryan C. Dunbar of Broussard; two brothers, Albert and Keith Romero both of Coteau; two sisters, Ruby R. Duck of Abbeville, and Susie Romero of Coteau; and four grandchildren, Kaylee Dunbar, Kelsie Dunbar, Landon Romero, and Paxton Romero all of Broussard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elias Romero, two brothers, Harris Romero, Sr. and Carlton Romero; and a loving aunt and uncle, Nedia and Etienne Romero.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan C. Dunbar, Kaine Champagne, Harris Romero, Jr., Kirk Romero, Kendal Romero, and Gary David.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Scot Romero, Albert Romero, Keith Romero, Harold Delahoussaye, Wesley David, and Daniel David.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
