Lafayette -A Mass of Christian Burialwill be held for Irby Bourque, 78, on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 2:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Bill Gearheard officiating. Visitation will begin on Monday, July 30, 2007 from 12:00PM until 9:00PM with the recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume onTuesday, July 31, 2007 from 8:30AM until time of service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

A native and life long resident of Milton, Mr. Bourque died on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 7:55 am at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Irby was a proud life long member of the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers (IBEW), having recently been recognized for 50 years of dedicated service. He worked around southern Louisiana for various contractors as a journeyman electrician.

Irby is survived bytwo daughters Ann Underwood and Joni Hossley of Milton,one son Max Bourque of Maurice,two sisters Hazel LeBlanc of Maurice and Dorothy Charpentier of Franklin,eight grandchildren andthree great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Mr Bourque was preceded in death by his parents, Galbert and Angelic Whittington Bourque,four brothers Wilbert, Raywood, Harvey and Ashby Bourque all of the Milton area.

Pallbearers will be Max Bourque, Philip Bourque, Reggie Hossley Jr., Augustine Brashier Jr., Brad Daigle and John Allen LeBlanc.

Musical selections will be "Open Road" and "Greatest Man", both written and composed personally by Brian Perrin. For this our family will forever be greatful.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette will be handling the arrangements.
