Loving Mother and Grandmother Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Lawless Arton, the former Marie Elise LeBlanc, 84 on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Arron Melancon officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Mausoleum. Visitation will begin on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00 PM. A native of Delcambre, a resident of New Iberia and a former longtime resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Arton died on Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 at 8:31 PM at her residence. Mrs. Arton and her husband were owners of Smokeys Grocery in Jeanerette. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana at 2600 Johnston St. Suite 200 Lafayette, LA 70503 or the Carmelite Monastary at 1250 Carmel Dr. Lafayette, LA 70501. The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana and Azalea Estates Staff and Sitters. She is survived by her sons, Glen Arton and his wife Sylvia of Prairieville, Michael Arton and his wife Mignon of New Iberia, John Arton and his wife Annette of Lafayette , Tim Arton and his wife Marilyn of Carencro and her daughter, Pattie Colomb and her husband Michael of New Iberia. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawless J. Smokey Arton; her parents, Arthur and Fedora LeBlanc and her brothers, Clay, Claude, Alton and Ray LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be grandsons and family members.
