New Iberia"Funeral services for Mr. Oscar Joseph T-Bud Robin, 90, will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street, New Iberia, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Robin passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 10:35 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital.
A native of the Pt. Barre/Leonville area, Mr. Robin had lived in New Iberia since he was about 18-years-old. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater of Operations, mainly in France in Germany. He earned the Bronze Star Medal while a private first class serving with Company C, 92nd Signal Battalion, U.S. Army Signal Corps. Mr. Robin worked for Texaco, retiring in February 1979 after 40 years of service in the oilfield. He enjoyed fishing, growing tomatoes, and being outdoors. Mr. Robin was often seen sitting in his yard, waving to and greeting those who passed by.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Doiron and husband, Cliff, Sr. of New Iberia, Melissa Bonin and husband, Wayne of New Iberia, and Jill Champagne and husband, Murphy of New Iberia; sons, Oscar Jeff Robin and wife, Linette of New Iberia and Darrell Robin of Portland, OR; sister, Elise R. Alexander and husband, James of Baton Rouge; 12 grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Robin is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Migues Robin; parents, Oscar and Sophie deBlanc Robin; daughter, Peggy Diane Prioux; sisters, Bertha R. Fuchs and Ramona R. Beauxis; brothers, Roy G. Robin and Percy G. Mutt Robin; and a grandchild, Robin Lee Doiron.
Serving as pallbearers are Oscar Jeff Robin, Eli Robin, Robin Bonin, Clifford Doiron, Jr., Ricky James Doiron, Murphy Champagne, Henry Kracke, and Wayne Bonin.
Mr. Robins family wishes to extend their appreciation his physician, Dr. Carl Ditch; his sitters, Sheila Jacquet, Indiana Jacquet, Judy Thibodeaux, and Annette Lewis; and housekeeper, Janel Etie. A special thanks goes out to Hospice of Acadiana .
The family has asked that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana.
